The AMU Story

How it began… from there, to here!

“Slick, inspired goofing around”

- The Independent.

In 2013 I completed the ‘Performance Improv’ course at Hoopla Impro. Soon after, Hoopla’s founder Steve Roe mentioned that there was a bit of a gap in the market for all-female improv groups and suggested I start one. So, I did! And the rest is history….

All Made Up were Kate Bell, Natalie McCormack, Lillie Freer, Jenny Maynard, Suzie Pope, Becky Graham, Karen Reed, Becky Bone and Jen Cockburn.

An integral part of All Made Up was our loveable dandy compère and resident artist/designer Stephen Alan Yorke.

An all-female character improv collective;

a unique combination of comedy, drama and nonsense.”

We took our social-media inspired improv show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and performed a full month-long run for two years in a row.

“One of our favourite 8 shows of the Edinburgh Fringe”.

– Glamour magazine.

We performed at comedy festivals, guested on and headlined live shows, ran our own comedy nights, hosted corporate workshops and shows… and had SUCH an amazing time doing them all.

But when life happens, different responsibilities come calling. And sadly, All Made Up – the improv group – eventually came to an end.

And it’s that groundwork that brings AMU to where it is today – All Made Up 2.0!

Now I’m combining my love of improv, people and maximising personal development to bring you the next chapter in the AMU story… my All Made Up Improv workshops!

For an extra visual walk down memory lane you can take a visual stroll over at All Made Up 1.0’s old Instagram page.
