Improv Workshops

Hosted by Actor/Improviser/Comedian/Teacher Kate Bell

Why Improv?

I think we should all have a bit more fun in life. There, I said it!

The daily grind and our adult responsibilities, added to the pressure we put on ourselves to live a certain way, well… it can all get a bit much sometimes. It’s easy to get caught up in that life stuff. And then it can be difficult to have fun and remember who we really are.

And that’s where I come in!

I believe improv (which is just making stuff up by playing and having a laugh) can help us all in every aspect of our daily lives.

So I’m here to introduce you to this world of fun and help you to discover that you are enough.

You’re brilliant.

And you can do SO much more than you think you can!

Who’s with me?!

Everyday Empowerment with Improv

New dates TBC

Use an Improviser’s mindset to embrace challenges and take control of fear so that you can take risks and make positive changes in your everyday life now.

Sometimes, all we need is a bit of help and guidance.

We need to have some fun and be reminded how amazing we actually are.

Don’t sit and wait for things to happen to you, make them happen yourself.

Stop looking outside of yourself for validation.

Everything you need is within you, you just have to find it and then unleash it.

Let’s stop getting in our own way. Life’s too short!

Over 3 weeks we will understand what it means to have an improviser’s mindset and develop and strengthen these skills to equip you with all the tools you’ll need to begin to take more control and start living your best life!

We will use improv, games, exercises, group discussion and mindset coaching whilst having a lot of fun.

This will be a workshop space with an atmosphere of fun, safety, trust and support.

It is NOT stand-up comedy and nobody is ever on their own. Improv is about having fun, freeing up the brain and learning new skills and gaining confidence along the way.

All of this will happen in a safe, laid-back and fun environment where there are no expectations.

NO EXPERIENCE OF ANYTHING NEEDED!

Taster-Prov! Beginners Improv Workshop.

In-person.

Have a go at Improv!

WEDS 1st JUNE 7pm BST (90mins) £12

At the Honor Oak Pub .

Part of the Brockley Max Festival

I’m here to tell you that Improv (short for Improvisation) is NOT SCARY! It’s essentially making stuff up, having fun and playing. Improv was actually invented many moons ago by a lady called Viola Spolin and it was specifically designed for kids! (Not baby goats though, children). It is definitely NOT Stand-up comedy and you are never left flailing around on your own! This is about working as a group and playing games and building stories together.
This is a drop-in session to try improv and get the brain functioning. We will also build your confidence and communication skills whilst having a laugh. ABSOLUTELY NO PERFORMANCE OR COMEDY EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
In fact, we actively encourage and welcome ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS with ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE! NONE AT ALL! Not an inch….or even a millimetre! These sessions are fun, friendly, and inclusive. With no idea ever being seen as wrong or stupid.

*If you cannot book for financial reasons but would like to attend this workshop, you are welcome. Please email me directly at allmadeupimprov@gmail.com.

Back to Basics Improv. An Online Drop-In.

A ‘twice a month’ drop-in for all levels of improv experience.

Mondays at 7pm BST (90 mins)

ONLINE via Zoom £12

These regular drop-ins are designed to help us engage all of the major improv muscles in our body.

In other words, let’s work on getting to a point where we don’t even have to think about the fact that we are improvising when we are doing it so it frees us up to play and fully unleash our creativity.

In these sessions we will look at listening/agreement/grounded scenes/starting scenes/editing/truth/heightening/playing with anyone/getting out of our heads.

All of this will happen in a safe, laid-back and fun environment where there are no expectations and we are all there because of our love of improv.
Let’s regularly improvise to the best of our ability and our fun levels turned up to eleven! Then, when the shows/self-tapes/castings or anything that throws us out of our comfort zone comes along, we are ready and on top form with less negative mind-chatter and our improv muscles pumped!

USE IT OR LOSE IT GLORIOUS FRIENDS!
